Plots in polar coordinate system in Mathcad are build the same way as plots in Cartesian coordinate system. But it is important to take into account the specific character of the functions themselves. In polar coordinate system when the sample plot is activated the operating space is shown as a circle. Angle variable name is entered in the lower part of the sample, the name of the function which defines radius as angle function is entered in the left part. The right upper part shows two entry fields to enter the low value and the ceiling of the radius. Mathcad makes it possible to show a few functions in the plot operating field, for that reason function names are entered one after another, parted with commas. The programme listing shows the examples of plots in polar coordinate system. It is also possible to format plots by outputting scales of radial, circular, auxiliary lines, etc. Formatting in Mathcad is realized by means of the tool bar of the dialogue box “Format”, which is activated by double mouse clicking the plot field.
